about us

We develop and manufacture windows, doors and glass walls. So that they contribute to the functionality and beauty of architecture. They co-create houses, places to live. They connect them undisturbed with nature. They underline the power of architecture. Through minimalist design, clean details and large-format frameless glazing.

“The production of windows and doors began in Valašské Příkazy in 1926 by great-grandfather František Janošík, and we still produce them at the same location today. During that time, we have manufactured and installed over 250,000 of them." Jiří Janošík

Pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible and making windows more beautiful. Design and innovation are already a natural part of our being. In 2012, we introduced the first wooden windows to contemporary architecture, and since then we have been trying to push the window industry forward. We collaborated on the design with architect Zdeněk Fránek and designer Maxim Velčovský. Internally, we have overcome challenges such as a window levitating in the middle of glass or the installation of 3-ton glass with a length of 10m. Also the development of subtle windows that are only 50mm thin, pivot doors, all-glass windows and more. We are open to visionary challenges from architects who want to push the limits of what is possible or seen for higher quality architecture.

We bring wooden windows into our time, into contemporary architecture. We are convinced of their qualities. Although the aesthetics of Euro windows from previous decades have taken a toll on their reputation. Our effort is to return wooden windows to where we think they belong. In architecture of the highest quality, where they will be a strong part of them. After all, it is probably the most pleasant natural material. There they will contribute to the creation of strong atmospheres, different atmospheres. On lightly brushed oak, in black matte oil as timeless elegance and nobility. In natural oak as a mediator of pleasantness and peace. Or the simplicity of soft woods. All this is now enhanced by the possibility of new subtlety and lightness.

„I have seen and experienced houses that were bewitching. They were connected by a strong atmosphere. You felt pleasant. Calm, yet dignified. They evoked feelings of freedom. Equanimity, but also generosity. The fact that they were so strong was also due to the houses themselves. But also to how their architecture took the atmosphere from the surroundings and brought it inside. They themselves were often aesthetically humble. They did not overwhelm the nature outside. They knew what was strong. That was then multiplied. Whether it was Fallingwater in Pennsylvania or the spa in Vals with its breathtakingly wide surroundings. Or traditional houses in Kyoto with a small, yet more intense garden. We want to make windows that will help co-create similar architectures and atmospheres.“ Jakub Janošík
